Keswick is in the Town of Georgina and has a population of approximately 27,000 people.
Originally, Keswick was called Medina and was founded by Chris Armstrong. Before becoming part of Georgina, it was part of North Gwillimbury. Until the late 1980’s people living in Toronto considered Keswick to be part of cottage country, but as significant development opened up access, its population grew.
Several attractions are available year-round in Keswick, including public parks, beaches, forests, and conservation areas. Morning Glory Provincial Nature Reserve, Sibbald Point Provincial Park, Keswick Marsh Fish and Bird Sanctuary are just some of the most coveted places to visit.
At the north end of Keswick is the Georgina Military Museum. Among the activities available in the town are swimming, boating, ice fishing, and snowmobiling.
In the winter, the ROC (Recreational Outdoor Campus) in Georgina features tubing, snowboarding, and skiing. In the summer, the ROC offers soccer, volleyball, and bike trails.
Schools in Keswick are overseen by two school boards in York Region: the York Region District School Board (YRDSB) and the York Catholic District School Board (YCDSB).
